Welcome to all caregivers!
This is a class for anyone who takes care of others to find peace, put themselves first, and take care of their own well-being.
This class consists of slow-paced yoga with many variations provided so that participants can recognize what their bodies and mind would like to choose to do during practice. What happens when you are the main caregiver is that you put others first so many times that you forget to notice what your needs are.
Enjoy slow physical yoga movements to release tensions from your body and mind. Join us to practice connecting with the essence of who you are and what you want.
Yuko’s Yoga journey started in 2003 in Spain, and she immediately fell in love with it as a tool to maintain physical, emotional, and mental balance. Since then, she continued to practice during her careers in Japan and in Canada. Working in corporate environments she came to realize how important it is to keep your body and mind active.
After practicing for 13 years, she became a certified Vinyasa Yoga instructor at Astanga Yoga Ottawa and transitioned to teaching full-time both in-person and online.
She has been teaching Hatha Yoga at CAG Old Ottawa East and is excited to bring a new class to the community, Yoga for Caregivers.
Her instruction is easy to follow, gentle, and effectively designed. Her aim is to guide her participants to a physically, mentally, and emotionally content place through the teaching of Yoga.
Yuko is a certified Yoga Sweat®, Yin Yoga, Yoga for Emotional and Physical Trauma, and Tai Chi Instructor. She is also trained in Fitness for Seniors.
This class will be offered in Hybrid mode, with in-person classes happening at the Old Town Hall (61 Main Street) and Yuko will use Zoom to live broadcast the class. Recordings of the class will not be available.
